DYSPHORIA PROJECT
A downloadable game for Windows
[WARNING]
Are you insane? Here, yes. This place talks back. Corridors feel unreal, radios whisper, and your own memories protest. If something feels wrong, you’re probably on the right path.
What is DYSPHORIA PROJECT ?
DYSPHORIA is a psychological/analog horror experience set in an abandoned complex in Kazakhstan. You are David, a collaborator on an experiment that “ended” years ago.
Here, atmospheric tension takes precedence over cheap jump scares: liminal spaces, corrupted files, and signals that seem to know your name. The story is driven by exploration, careful listening, and light, readable puzzles; the truth is pieced together from conflicting versions of events.
-
Focus: atmosphere, sound, and observation — not combat.
-
Playstyle: slow, deliberate exploration; pattern-spotting; interpreting documents and audio.
-
Pillars: unreliable memory, environmental storytelling, radio numbers, quiet dread.
How not to lose your mind
Keep calm and analyze your surroundings. DYSPHORIA aims to confuse you just enough — but it always plays fair if you pay attention.
-
Breathe. Stand still and listen: static, hums, and distant knocks often point somewhere.
-
Look for patterns in lights, signage, and ambient noise; repeated sequences matter.
-
Mark landmarks (mentally or on paper): stains, broken signs, sounds at specific corners.
-
Read twice. Documents disagree with each other — and with you. The truth lives between versions.
What DYSPHORIA is NOT
-
Not a shooter or an action game.
-
Not a jump-scare compilation (if they appear, they’re earned).
-
Not an arbitrary puzzle-box: there is logic, but it’s embedded in the world.
-
Not a hand-holding narrative: you’ll interpret more than you’re told.
Warnings
-
Themes of anxiety, paranoia, and memory manipulation.
-
Flickering lights and glitch-like visual effects (photosensitivity caution).
-
Static-heavy audio, distorted voices, and sharp, tense sound cues.
-
Claustrophobic spaces and persistent unease.
Headphones recommended. Take breaks. The game won’t.
This project is still in development. We are three young developers working on it. Also, any donation helps us keep working on the project. Thank you for play
